Improve your interview skills with some helpful tips to make you better on camera.

When doing a video, one of the most nerve-wracking things that clients worry about is the interview. It’s a daunting thing getting in front of a camera and trying to be personable, clear, and professional. However, there are skills to help alleviate this stress. Below we will share some skills to help you knock your next interview, out of the park. Making you look like a rockstar!

Be Yourself

Being yourself on camera is something that is easier said than done. With bright lights and a camera in your face, nerves can sometimes get in the way. But it's important to remember to stay calm and try to have fun! You get the chance to describe something you’re passionate about and want to share with your audience.

Know Your Stuff

Before the day of shooting, make sure to go through the questions and think of the answers you want to give. Research the areas of knowledge that you may be feeling uncomfortable with, and try to round out those edges. Then, walk into that interview with all confidence in your knowledge of the story you want to tell.

Don’t Worry About Perfection

Remember, for most interviews you give, especially if your working with us, your interviews are not live! If you make a mistake, it’s no big deal! Try it again if you want to get a better take on something. We will do what we need to to make you look like the best version of yourself. The actual interview may take anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour, and we trim that down to the best 3 - 4 minutes.

While interviews can be stressful, they can also be a lot of fun, especially with us on set. Coming in prepared knowing what you want to say definitely helps, but really, the most important thing is to relax, be yourself and have fun. By the end of it, you’ll look like a movie star.
